I have a Christmas cactus.  I have had this plant for quite awhile now.  It has always had a mind of its own.  It used to bloom around Thanksgiving, but it didn't bloom last year or the year before.  I don't know why, it just didn't bloom.  Then this past year, it didn't bloom for Thanksgiving.  It didn't bloom for Christmas.  This year it decided to bloom for Valentines Day.  Proof that everyone blooms when they are ready. 

It's 4 am and it's very quiet in the house.  I think this may be my favorite time of day, but I am not sure why.  I have to get ready for work.  I'd so much rather stay home. 

I was at a fun event yesterday - The Maven Market.  The event coordinator was great and those there to help were unbelievable.  I hope I get to go back again.  It was well worth the disaster. Here's the disaster.  I had the racks and all the boards up on the racks.  Just before the guy came over to put up the tent for me, a big gust of wind knocked over 2 of the racks.  What a mess!  I picked up the racks, picked up the boards, and just shook my head.  There was so much jewelry on the ground. After I got the boards back up and the racks tied to the tent so they wouldn't blow over again, I started to put things back up.  One of the boards had a crack in it - still usable thank goodness.  Some of the jewelry had broken.  I set those aside and then fixed what I could.  A bunch of it was a huge tangled mess. There are days when I go to where my wedding ring used to me, and I miss it.  I miss the way it felt on my finger.  I miss how pretty it was.  I miss what it meant. Then reality comes rushing back.  I don't miss the jerk who gave it to me.  I don't miss the pain he caused me with his lies.  I don't miss the drama all his stupidity brought to my life.  I don't miss him.  I am so glad he is out of my life. But, what I do miss is the dream I always had for my life.  I have had this card hanging on my wall for as long as I can remember.  This is what I always thought my life would be.  I would become a little old woman working outside with a little old man who loved me, spending my days and nights with a little old man who loved me and took care of me, sharing my thoughts and feelings with a little old me whom I loved more than life itself.  NOT GONNA HAPPEN NOW! So my dream has changed just a bit.  I am becoming that litt...

So today is Thursday - actually my Friday this week.  The students get tomorrow off for Fair Day. If you read my post yesterday, I wrote about the positivity of making your bed every day.  Well, I made my bed yesterday and this morning.  Now, I will admit, it only takes me a couple of minutes to make my bed because I make almost no mess with the sheets and blankets.  But, it is still nice to come home to a neatly made bed.  It is so nice to get into that same bed at night.  And, despite how tired I have been because of the late nights, I still am able to have a positive day because I started the day with a positive act. Happy Wednesday! I learned something yesterday.  It goes a bit like this.  If you want to be successful start every day by making your bed.  Doesn't that sound crazy?  It's not.  Think about it.  If you accomplish this simple task first thing every day, you have been successful.  Once you have started the day knowing you have been successful, you set the day in motion to keep being successful.  Then just go about completing one task after another. So make your bed first thing every day.  Be the most successful person you have proved yourself to be.  But, if nothing does go right one day, remember, when you get home, you will have a nicely made bed.  This will remind you, you are successful. Welcome Welcome Welcome Thank you all for joining me.  This will be my new format for sharing my love for Paparazzi Jewelry and LuLaRoe.  Although I make no promises, I will try to add something every day.  Today I would just like to share some things about me and why I do this. I am a mom of 3, a grandma of 7, a sibling in a family of 7, and a two time divorcee.  I have been diagnosed with depression, but I have been on medication for years and do well on it.  I am a breast cancer survivor and now call myself lopsided.  I have had cataract surgery in both eyes and tell my students I have fake eyes. Oh, did I say I was a teacher?  I am a teacher and proud of it.  I teach kids who are deaf and hard of hearing and have done it since 1988.  Although I dearly love my job, I can't wait to retire in just 3 more years. My life has not always been pretty.  I have dealt with several events that have really shaped how I think and feel. ...
